Originally I was only going to make this a still illustration as an exercise in perspective and geometric shapes but eventually decided that it would benefit greatly from movement and change. This was done with a mixture of illustrating in Adobe Illustrator and animating all the moving pieces in Adobe After Effects. I wanted there to be a clear color shift that would change the entire tone of the piece and went through a few different transitions before going with the Radial Shift from the bottom of the screen going counter-clockwise to reveal the new colors and the eye underneath. Once I had the design and animation finished I knew it would benefit from a textured filter animated on top and that was the finishing touch to give it some depth and tactility.
